Junior Environmental & Sustainability Analyst
On-Site
Full Time
Role Summary
We are hiring a Junior Environmental and Sustainability Analyst to support delivery and reporting across environmental and ESG topics. The role combines data-heavy reporting with practical assessment work: collecting and validating evidence, supporting field/site activities when needed, drafting technical sections of reports, and ensuring traceability and quality control across deliverables. The candidate may support environmental compliance projects, E&S due diligence/assessment tasks, sustainability reporting (including carbon and LCA-related inputs), and green building advisory workstreams. This is a hands-on role with a strong learning curve and direct exposure to real client delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental & E&S support
Support environmental compliance and gap assessments: document review, evidence collection, compliance matrices, and corrective action tracking.
Support E&S due diligence and assessment deliverables (where applicable): stakeholder interview notes, risk/impact registers, mitigation measures, and action plans (e.g., ESMP/ESAP-type trackers where required by project context).
Support site-based activities as needed (due diligence, walkthroughs, inspections): field notes, photo logs, evidence indexing, and follow-up actions.
Compile and maintain environmental datasets (energy, water, wastewater, waste streams, air emissions, chemicals, H&S indicators where relevant) with clear assumptions, version control, and audit-ready referencing.
Sustainability reporting, carbon, and LCA
Support sustainability reporting workstreams by preparing structured data packs and narrative inputs (KPIs, boundary notes, assumptions, evidence references, consistency checks).
Support carbon accounting and activity-data workflows (Scope 1–2 and screened Scope 3 where relevant): activity data compilation, emissions-factor referencing, calculation cross-checks, and reconciliation against source evidence.
Support LCA-related workstreams as applicable: collecting life-cycle inventory inputs (materials, energy, transport, quantities), building structured datasets suitable for LCA tools/consultants, and ensuring documentation quality for reproducibility.
Green buildings and resource efficiency (as assigned)
Support green building advisory workstreams by collecting project inputs and drafting technical content related to energy efficiency, water efficiency, materials selection, and operational sustainability measures.
Support evidence compilation for green building documentation (e.g., design-stage inputs, as-built documentation packs, calculations/evidence trails, and summary narratives).
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/ Chemical/ Civil/ Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
0–2 years of relevant experience (internships and project-based experience count).
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail (especially in data handling and report consistency).
Strong Excel skills (cleaning datasets, pivots, basic formulas; ability to work with structured templates).
Strong technical writing skills in English; ability to produce clear, professional deliverables.
Comfortable working with deadlines, multiple parallel tasks, and client-facing professionalism.
Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits/due diligences as needed.
Arabic fluency is strongly preferred (spoken andwritten), alongside professional English.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with GRI Standards, ISO 14001 concepts, and ESG audit workflows.
Exposure to greenhouse gas accounting concepts (activity data, emissions factors, Scope 1/2/3 logic).
Any relevant training (internal auditor, H&S basics, environmental compliance).
Exposure to LCA concepts and standards (e.g., ISO 14040/14044 concepts) and/or tools (e.g., openLCA, SimaPro, One Click LCA) is an advantage.
Exposure to green building frameworks/certifications (e.g., LEED, EDGE, Estidama, GSAS) or energy/water efficiency projects.
Any relevant training (internal auditor, environmental compliance, basic H&S).
